A nameless stamp by SimbaTheHuman A nameless stamp by SimbaTheHuman
WHOOT, It looks WORLDS better now < 3
I'm happy with the result. Took about thirty minutes to get everything perfect. ^^

I. Love. Naoki. Urasawa. The story follows the talented doctor Tenma. One day, Tenma decides to save the life of a young boy rather than the important hospital patient he was told to operate on. As a result, he looses an opportunity of a lifetime, and is even dumped by his fiance Eva. He rants by the bedside of the boy whom he saved, saying that they would be better off dead. Then the hospital director dies. That same night, the young boy and his twin sister disappear. Tenma is the prime suspect of the murder, but charges are never pressed, as they can't find quite enough evidence. The main story takes place ten years later, after a string of murders concerning middle-aged couples. Tenma is a suspect in these murders, and is the first to find out the person that is truly behind them. A very familiar young boy, or rather, young man. As Tenma runs from the law, he must try to stop the monster that he unleashed. I have re-typed that summary too many times. x-x. There are many, many things to love about the series. Something I feel worth mentioning is the art. The characters are meant to look more realistic. It works very well. No odd hair colours, just people. I love the setting. Does it take place in Japan? Nope. America? Nope. Fantasy-land? Nope. 1990s Germany, and then they go from time to time to the Czech Republic. How interesting and different. The pacing, in my opinion, is another strong point of the series. It's long, at seventy four episodes, but well worth it. Naoki Urasawa is a master of suspense. By the final arc, I had my face practically glued to the screen. Also, the villain. Johan is one of the best villains I have ever seen, ever. He doesn't need anything special to get what he wants. He just needs his own pretty face. Maybe a gun if it comes to that. Overall, if you want an anime that requires you to pay attention, you'll love this.

Watch it (here: [link] ) but pay attention or you'll be totally lost. :)

Monster was created by Naoki Urasawa. The manga is available from Viz media. It was adapted into an anime by Studio madhouse, and is also available from Viz media.

I discovered Monster this year, and it's quickly become my favorite anime! ^_^ It just barely nudges out other great ones like FMAB. Just... all of the /characters/ that are so well thought-out make it. So much love.

Is it wrong if I love the "name" you gave this stamp even more than the stamp itself? :P

Haha, I'm glad you like it. It doesn't get much attention on D.A, sadly. It is very intriguing. I don't think many people would understand the intrigue and write it off as boring, which is sad. Oh, the opening and ending. Despite the minimal animation in the ending, I stood by every episode to watch it. I only started skipping when I was in an arc I really liked and just wanted to get to the next episode (like the arc with Karl and Johan and then the final arc)

No, they're quite serious. Earlier in the video they talk about how great a yaoi manga is too. I think my face collided with my desk the first time I watched the video

I started reading the comic after i Heard Naoki being a huge fan of Tezuka and that Monster was most likely inspired from Tezuka's MW.
( and that Tenma was based on Tezuka's character Dr Tenma )
Wow it feels just like a modern take on Tezuka's comics, you can't stop reading it once you started.

Gosh, I need to re-re-do this stamp. It looks so bad x3

ah na it looks fine, the Title needs to be more bright trough ( because it has to jump out xD )

You should read MW by Osamu Tezuka to if you like Monster, you can definitely see where Naoki got his inspiration from.

This anime is, right now, my favourite one. It's so much intense, the musics are lovely, and the character have all very much karisma. I cried on the last episode, for the tension and maybe the sadness for the monster. :) he's evil but I always feel compassion for him. Many other character make me really emotive.. it's amazing!

20th Century Boys is another Urasawa's manga. There's no anime, but soon a live-action will be out. There's Pluto, too: Urawasa is really good with childrens story.. read them if you have not yet!

Monster made me cry, too. Except for me it was episode 71. Poor Grimmer. I also felt compassion for Johan, he was evil, but there was enough to him to make him lovable at the same time.

I'm reading 20th Century boys at the moment, and when I've finished I plan to read Pluto.

This was definitely one of the greatest anime I've ever seen, the story-line, the characters, it was just almost perfect :love:

Ugh, I thought the only anime that could make me cry was FMAB... but I was wrong, Monster made me cry even more ;A;

Thank you, I feel awesome~ <3 Living in the Netherlands can be really annoying sometimes, they sell such a little amount of manga and no anime at all... I was really surprised when I saw Monster was for sale.

Thank you for the watch as wel! I'll watch you back right away :D

The only anime that ever made me cry was...

uh....
....
I think I'm heartless.
I've teared up but never cried.

It's pretty much the same in Canada. If you aren't ordering online, no anime for you. We have some manga, but it's mostly stuff I don't want to read.

You're welcome and thanks.

God, the snow's really coming down here.
It was supposed to snow tomorrow but then we were hit by this blizzard and everyone had to somehow get a ride home early
And what a hassle!

Meh, I think I'm just too emotional when it comes to animated series/movies xD
Yeah, same counts for Holland. The problem is, my DVD-player only accepts Region 2 dvd's, and almost every anime-dvd is region 1 :C Bleach, Naruto and Fruits Basket are pretty much the only manga they sell here o3o

Hmm... Weather forecast predicted snow tomorrow... let's hope it's not gonna be as worse as that .___.

No, wait! Fullmetal Alchemist did make me cry (how could I forget about Hughes?)
Also, just yesterday Gankutsuou make me cry ;-;

Damn, that sucks.
Really? They sell Death Note instead of fruits basket here. Then a few volumes of other random things scattered here and there.

We're going to school today, despite the ice. -_-
it started to snow again, and I know the same thing that happened yesterday is going to happen again but oh no! We have to go -sigh-

Ahh, FMA... Hughes death was really sad indeed, but I didn't cry. I DID cry about Nina and Alexander though, their death was so sad in the Brotherhood series D: I just didn't saw it coming, Shou seemed so nice... ;___;

Oh yeah, they also have Death Note here. Forgot about that one since I've already bought every chapter xD

Hmm, it didn't snow yesterday... hope it will stay that way.

Poor Nina. Hughes was sadder in the 2003 FMA, since he died in episode 25 and had had more development. ;-;

Death Note's also the only anime they sell on shelves here, aside from Miyazaki movies, of course.

It snowed all night here. So they couldn't clear the main roads, so they didn't have time to salt the roads either, so we have the day off from school.

I think the art turns people off, the fact that they look somewhat like REAL PEOPLE and not all like gorgeous clones with different hair to tell them apart, like most anime.
